The short version

We collect as little as we can get away with, and we never touch your bank. Everything below is the detail behind that. By using Payoff Vector, you agree to how we handle data as described on this page.

What we collect

Account basics: your first name (optional), email address, and a salted hash of your password — never the password itself.

Your numbers: the debts, bills, income, cash on hand, grocery budget, buffer target, and strategy you type in. This is what the math runs on — without it, there’s no plan. It’s your data, stored so your dashboard and history work.

Payment info: none. Payments run through Polar, our payment partner. Your card number goes to them, never to us — we only receive your email and subscription status from Polar so your account upgrades correctly.

What we never collect

Bank credentials. Account numbers. Transaction history. Card numbers. Social Security numbers. Anything you don’t type into a form yourself. We can’t pull money, move money, or see your accounts — the product is designed so we never could.

What we do with it

We use your data to run the service: build your plans, keep your dashboard, save your history, and process subscription state. That’s it. We don’t sell it. We don’t share it with advertisers. We don’t use it to build profiles of you for anyone else.

We don’t send you marketing emails or newsletters, and we’ll never email you unless you email us first. When you pay, Polar (our payment partner) emails your receipt to you directly — that’s the only automatic email connected to your account.

Cookies & tracking

One session cookie keeps you logged in — that’s the whole cookie story. No ad networks, no cross-site trackers, no analytics pixels following you around the internet. We can see aggregate server logs (like any website) but we don’t fingerprint you.

Security & retention

Your data lives in our database, encrypted at rest. Access is restricted to the people who run the service. No system is perfect, but we keep the surface small on purpose — the less we hold, the less there is to lose.

Your data stays until you delete it. Close your account in the app — or email us, if you prefer — and we remove your account information and your numbers from the active database; backups age out within about 30 days. You can also export or print your plan history before you go.

Your choices

You can update or correct your numbers any time on the dashboard. You can cancel a subscription any time from billing settings. And you can close your account and delete your data yourself, whenever you want — it’s built into the app (Setup → Strategy tab → “Close my account”), no email required. Prefer to have us do it? Use our contact page — that’s also the route if you’re in a jurisdiction with data-subject rights (access, portability, deletion) — and we’ll respond within 30 days.

Children

Payoff Vector is for adults. Don’t create an account if you’re under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we’ll post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date at the top of the page. This page is the source of truth for the current version — check back now and then.
